For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.

On Thursday, July 27, 2023, our beloved father, Alexander Smith Hunter, departed this earthly life on wings of Angels, to begin a better life with our Heavenly Father. He was born June 11, 1934, in Hampden Sydney, Virginia, to William and Mary Alice Hamilton Hunter.
He was educated in the Prince Edward County School System and graduated from Robert R. Moton High School. He was the first of Mary Alice’s children to graduate high school.
After school, he relocated to New York. He married Miss Juanita Hargwood and they had four children: Wanda, Patricia, Alexander, Jr. and Donald. He had many jobs. He was a chef at Mahoney’s Restaurant for a while and later moved to Atlantic City, NJ, where he opened a liquor store and was in business with his brother, Samuel Hunter. He later married Ms. Gertrude Crosbie.
