Alma Yvonne Watkins Walker was born April 19, 1942 in Prince
Edward County, Virginia to John B. Watkins, Sr., and Louise Baker
Watkins. She departed this world on Friday, January 26, 2024 in
Washington, DC. Alma was educated in Prince Edward County Public
Schools until they closed in 1959. She then moved to Michigan in 1961
and on to Washington, DC in 1963.
Alma married the love of her life on December 31, 1963, in
Alexandria, VA. They then moved to Washington, DC, where they
resided until her death.
Alma has now joined her loved ones who preceded her in death.
They include: her parents, Louise and John Watkins, Sr.; two sisters,
Marie Murray and Alice Wideman; and one brother, John B. Watkins.
She leaves to cherish her memories: Her devoted and loving
husband, Arthur Walker, Jr.; sister, Katherine Walker (Roy) of Prince
Edward County, VA; two brothers-in-law, Philip Walker (Nancy Carroll)
of Prospect, VA, and Percell Walker (Alease) of Oxon Hill, MD; aunt,
Ephel Green of Prince Edward County, VA; and a host
