Amonte’ Brent Vaughan was born on April 20, 1996 in Farmville, Virginia to Angelique Vaughan and Lionel Scruggs. Amonte’ gained his wings and entered his eternal rest on February 11, 2022. Amonte’ was baptized at an early age at the Mount Moriah Upper Room Baptist Church. He received his education through the Prince Edward County Schools, where he played on the Varsity Basketball Team. His senior year, Amonte’ led the team to the State Championship Game. After graduation, Amonte’ attended Richard Bland College, Petersburg, VA and the following year he attended Louisburg College, Louisburg NC. Amonte’ was a hard worker and loved working outside. He had various odd jobs, i.e., construction worker, working at Longwood and Walmart. Amonte’ was full of life, laughter and just a pure joy to be around. He enjoyed playing basketball and watching basketball. He played on various travel and adult league basketball teams even after graduation. Amonte’ was a die hard Duke University fan. Amonte’ was a very loving and caring man. He loved and was loyal to his family and friends. He was very affectionate and didn’t mind showing his affection and love for his family. His favorite saying was “talk to meeee”.
