Verdell was a gifted conversationalist and known to engage and update everyone on current events of the community, nation and even the world.

She was simply adored by her elderly clientele.
In their later years, most of all Verdell loved visits from her sister, Elton. When visiting became difficult for both of them they cherished their hours long talks on the telephone each night. She will be dearly missed by her sister, Elton.
