Obituary For Antowan Lorenzo Braxton

Antowan Lorenzo Braxton, affectionately known as “Mook,” Age 42 of Meherrin, VA gained his wings on Thursday March 30th, 2023 peacefully in his home. Mook was born on March 3 rd , 1981 to Jesse J. Braxton and Charlita F. Braxton-Hairston in Farmville, VA. He was educated at Prince Edward County schools. Mook was an adventurous and rambunctious teen that enjoyed music from some of his favorite artists such as Wu-Tang and Busta Rhymes, writing, dancing, collecting sports cards, traveling with his beloved sister Michelle, and eating junk food. He was an extremely intelligent young man who enjoyed doing various projects in his spare time. He loved his family. In December of 1997, Mook was a passenger in a motor vehicle accident that left him incapacitated. His loving mother Charlita retired from her career as a nurse and graciously became his primary care giver for 26 years until God called him home. Mook was super spoiled by his mother and loved by all. Mook is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Benny and Bertha Braxton, his maternal grandparents Charlie and Christine Hatcher. Mook leaves to cherish his father, Jesse J. Braxton, mother, Charlita F. Hairston, two sisters, Michelle D. Watkins, Rodsheka M. Hairston and his sister in love, O’Layna V. Tyree. Mook also leaves behind two brothers, Quentin A. Braxton, Rodney Q. Hairston, Jr., three nieces, Charkiba D. Robinson, Te’Aya F. White, and Le’ Onnie E. Bigelow. Two fur nephews, Beamer and Bentley Hairston. Dear friend and nurse Sonia Kesterson, a host of uncles, aunts, great uncles and aunts, and cousins.
