Obituary For Branche lee Washington

Branche L. Washington was born to the late Gerri Lee and James Edmund Washington on April 29, 1934. He departed this life on May 21,2024 in Petersburg, Virginia.

At an early age, he was baptized and joined the Peaks Baptist Church in Prospect, Virginia. He received his early education in Prospect, Virginia and graduated from Robert Russa Moton High School in Farmville, Virginia.

Branche enlisted in the United States Army for 2 years. After separation from the army, he was employed as a chauffeur with a private family for many years. He then transitioned to Richmond Public Schools, as a bus driver for over 35 years. He was a Charter member of American Legion Post 210, Richmond , Virginia for over 38 years.

Family members remaining with fond memories are: his wife of 64 years, Rosalean M. Washington; three children, Adrienne Cutler (Ronnie), Terence Washington and Melody Washington; five grandchildren, ShaRhonda Cutler, Ronnie Cutler Jr., Rashard Cutler, Alexander Whittle and Alonzo Washington; six great grandchildren; five bonus nieces and nephews, Alvin Ross (Evelyn), Rose Carr Ross, Linwood Ross, Mark Ross and Lorri Ross; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Washington you were and awesome roll model to me and a great friend took me under your wing at RPS and showed me how to get around the city with that bus I will truly miss our friendship continue to RIH peacefully heaven has gained a great person to be an angel Lord I miss my friend here with me gone but will never be forgotten

    My consere condolences to the family of Branch Washington. I knew Branch as we were both members of American Legion Post 210. Branch was a great preparer of ham for our special occasions. Branch was loved by and will be missed by all. Rest well in Heaven.
