Obituary For Brenda Jean McClure-Wynn

Our beloved Brenda J. Wynn was born on August 7, 1956, in Manhattan, New York, to the late Mary McClure and Charles McClure. She was the second of two cherished daughters. On January 4, 2026, she peacefully transitioned from this life, boarding her flight to glory, Flight #930, surrounded by love and legacy.

At an early age, Brenda dedicated her life to the Lord at Gravel Hill Baptist Church and Star Hope Sunday School, where her faith was nurtured and remained a guiding light throughout her life. Later she also joined the Gospel Lifters singing group. She received her education at Luther H. Foster High School in Nottoway County and later graduated from George Wythe High School in Richmond, Virginia, in 1974.

Following graduation, Brenda honorably served her country by enlisting in the United States Army, where she was stationed in Seattle, Washington. She later continued her service with the United States Army National Guard, serving as a Supply Staff Sergeant at MATES, Fort Pickett. Her professional life reflected her deep compassion for others. She worked as a medical secretary at Piedmont Geriatric Hospital and later at the VA (McGuire) Hospital in Richmond, Virginia, supporting the Departments of Endocrinology and Infectious Disease. Taking early retirement, she lovingly devoted herself to caring for her late mother, Mary McClure.

True to her heart for service, Brenda returned to the workforce, continuing her mission of helping others as a medical secretary and patient advocate with House Calls MD in Crewe, Virginia. Her kindness, dedication, and willingness to serve left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her loving mother Mary McClure. She leaves to cherish her precious memories to her loving and devoted children, Kenja Cummings (Shannon) and William “LB” Wynn; One grandson, Keyon Givens; One sister, Linda Jones; Niece Allycia Parrett (Andre); Nephew Javen Bragg. Great nephew Roman Parrett; her loving and devoted Aunt Rachel Moody; and a host of cousins and friends.

She will be remembered for her unwavering faith, servant’s heart, and the love she freely gave to family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.

To the Kenja, LB & Family, I was deeply saddened to hear that your Mom and my old friend, Brenda McClure-Wynn had passed, much to my surprise. Brenda and I were stationed at Fort Lewis, WA while enlisted in the U.S. Army, upon which we became BFF in 1974. Throughout the years, we talked periodically to catch up on life's happenings. I pray that Father God's Grace will continue to bless Brenda's family and comfort them at the difficult time. My Love Always to Kenja, LB and the Family!!! 😢💕My Prayers and Thoughts are with You with "Memories of the Way We Were!" 🙏🏽🙌🏽 Debi Montgomery
