Our loved one, Carolyn Faye Laury Carey, departed this life on Monday,
May 29, 2023 at Canterbury Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in
Henrico County, Virginia. She was born March 28, 1960 in Buckingham
County, VA, the daughter of the late Lynn and Lula Austin Laury.
She confessed Christ at an early age and was a life-long member of the
Union Grove Baptist Church. A seamstress by trade, she loved to sew and
truly enjoyed taking care of her two grandsons.
Besides her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by: her husband,
Calvin Carey; brother, Randolph Laury, and two sisters, Barbara
and Marilyn Laury. She leaves to cherish her memory: two children,
Bernanette Laury and Bernard Carey both of Dillwyn; two grandsons,
Jermiah and Jaiden Booker of Dillwyn; two sisters, Darlene Anderson
(David) of Dillwyn, and Catherine Laury of Charlottesville, VA; four
brothers, Ernest Laury of Forest, VA, Nathaniel Laury of Goochland, VA,

Lynn Laury, Jr. of Buckingham, VA, and Clyde Laury of Georgia; mother-
in-law, Mrs. Edna Carey; brother-in- law, Earl Carey; and a host of nieces,

nephews, cousins, and friends.
