Obituary For Clarence Lee Davis

Clarence Lee Davis, affectionately called “Bootie”, was born to John and Martha Davis Carey on March 14, 1936, in Buckingham County, Virginia. In the early morning hours of June 20, 2022, Clarence entered eternity from him residence in the Dixie Hill community of Buckingham County. He was surrounded by his loving family. After high school, Clarence moved to northern Virginia and later joined the United States Army, where he honorably served as a military police officer. After his stay in the military, he married his high school sweetheart, Harriett Yvonne Dean. The couple was blessed with two children. He later returned to Buckingham County, where he was employed by the Virginia Department of Corrections in the Maintenance Department. Having declared Christ as his Savior early in life, Clarence was a life-long member of Fork Union Baptist Church, where he served in many capacities. He was an ordained Deacon, Sunday school teacher, member of various choirs, and Bible Study teacher at the Tuesday noon day studies. Bootie was a family man. He loved people. He enjoyed visiting family and friends, eating out, hunting, fishing, traveling, and watching westerns and sports with his constant shadow, great grandson Ari. He was a die-hard Atlanta Braves and Washington Redskins fan. Though he was humble, he was always dapper and dressed to the tee. Clarence was a member of Keystone Masonic Lodge #188, American Legion Post #134, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post. He proudly enjoyed participating in their various activities.
