Obituary For Clement Andrew Eldridge

Clement Andrew Eldridge, known to many as “Skeet a Bug”, or as his sister Mary would call him “Bean”, was born on November 3, 1939 in Buckingham County, Virginia. He was the youngest of four children born to Pearl Ethel and James Wylie Eldridge. He entered into eternal rest on Thursday, June 26, 2025.

Andrew grew to know the Lord at an early age. He was water baptized in Jesus name
and filled with the Holy Spirit. His faith grew over the years and he continued to serve at the Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ in Prospect, VA.

After graduating from high school, Andrew enlisted and dutifully served in the United
States Army. During this time he met and married the love of his life Estena Ford. They were married on December 2, 1964 in Pennsylvania and were blessed to stay together for 60 years. After his tour in the military, Andrew worked for Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA).

But Andrew ultimately was drawn home to Buckingham, Virginia where he and his bride built a home and raised their three children. He gained employment with the Virginia Department of Corrections where he achieved the rank of Lieutenant over his 20 year career. Upon retirement, Andrew worked for the school system and in his spare time he enjoyed fishing, gardening and was a skilled hunter.

Andrew was well known and an actively involved member of the community. He was of soft spoken demeanor yet a commanding presence and he will be profoundly missed but forever remembered in our hearts.

He is preceeded in death by his parents Pearl Ethel and James Wylie Eldridge and his brothers, Clarence and James Wylie (Mickey).

He was, for a brief moment, survived by his devoted wife Estena, who would follow him to Eternity on July 5, 2025; one sister, Mary Catherine; his three children, Jacqueline, Jermaine (April) and Jarrod (Stephanie), 11 Grandchildren, Great
grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, family and cherished friends.
