Courtney Robert Franklin, Jr., affectionately known as “Pete” departed this life on July 5, 2020 at Appomattox Health and Rehabilitation Center in Appomattox, Virginia. Born on December 30, 1941, he was the son of Courtney Robert Franklin, Sr. and Juanita Jennings Franklin. Pete confessed Christ at an early age and became a faithful member Zion Baptist Church in Pamplin, VA. He was educated in the Appomattox County Public Schools. He enjoyed his work as a laborer with the Pipeline (Labor Union 980 - Roanoke, VA). He was united in Holy Matrimony to Miss Mary Elizabeth Cobbs. Three sons were born to this union – James, Timothy and Dexter.
