Obituary For Curtis Gustavious Bolden

Curtis Gustavious Bolden departed this life at Lynchburg General Hospital in Lynchburg, Virginia, on January 25, 2023. Curtis was born September 16, 1962 to Zeanie and Doris Mitchell Bolden of Buckingham, Virginia. He received his education in the Buckingham County Public School System and graduated from Buckingham County High School. He accepted Christ at a very early age and became a lifelong member of Zion Baptist Church in Dillwyn, VA. He served faithfully in the church on the Usher Board, Gospel Choir and Men’s Chorus. Curtis was married to Sarita Arlene Woodson Bolden and this union was blessed with four sons. He was loving father, a hard worker and a kind, loving and humble man. He was employed by and retired from the Dillwyn Correctional Center after twenty nine years of service. He then worked for the Piedmont Juvenile Detention Center until the time of his death. Curtis was an active member of the Keystone Masonic Lodge # 188 of Arvonia, VA, and served faithfully until his illness prevented his participation. He was a true Dallas Cowboy fan. Curtis was preceded in death by: his father, Zeanie Bolden and brothers, Edward, Clayton and Leon Bolden. He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving and devoted mother, Doris M. Bolden; his wife of thirty six years, Sarita Arlene Bolden; his four sons, Jamel (Kandra) of Farmville, VA, JaVone (Jess) of Chesterfield, VA, Jerrick (Ajah) of Appomattox, VA and Jermaine (Taniesha) of Powhatan, VA; one goddaughter, Myia (Parker) of Midlothian, VA; seven grandchildren, Jameer, Shayla, NiKayja, Nizell, Kali, Kenzley and Kaysen; three sisters, Margaret (Shelton) and Diane of Dillwyn, VA and Gwendolyn of Farmville, VA; one brother, George of Dillwyn, VA; three sisters-in-law, Minnie Bolden of Dillwyn, VA, Daisy Alosauz of Chesterfield, VA and Angela Woodson of Cumberland, VA; two brothers-in-law, Carl and Marcus Brown of Richmond, VA; his mother and father-in-law, Robert and Shirley Brown of Cumberland, VA; and a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He will be greatly missed.
