Daisy Barksdale Granger, the third daughter of Edward and Rebecca Spradley Barksdale, was born October 2, 1940 in Green Bay (Prince Edward County), Virginia. Daisy was reared in a Christian home where she was required to attend church. The family prayed together before family meals and were taught respect for mankind.
