Daisy Mae Carter was born on February 4, 1952 in Cumberland, Virginia. She was the third of 12 children. After a lengthy illness, she departed this life on September 30, 2019 peacefully in her home while holding the hand of her husband of 49 years, Robert Douglas Carter.
