Obituary For Daisy Harvey Jones

Daisy Harvey Jones departed this life on December 6, 2025, from the Appomattox Health and Rehabilitation Center, in Appomattox, Virginia. She was born May 3, 1944 in Dillwyn, Virginia to George and Rosa Bell Harvey.

At an early age, Daisy was baptized and joined Mr. Olive Baptist Church. She sang in the Mt. Olive Baptist Church Choir. She graduated from Carter G. Woodson, Class of

1963. She also attended Piedmont Community College in Charlottesville, Virginia.

She was united in holy matrimony to Elbert Jones on

December 21, 1967.

Daisy was preceded in death by: her beloved husband, Elbert; and her brothers, Samuel Harvey, Clarence Harvey, and Robert Bell.

he was a caring and loving person, and she had a great love in her heart for children. Daisy was employed by the Buckingham County School System for 40 years as a teacher's aide. She retired in 2005. She was a caregiver for two families and she loved her patients.

Daisy loved keeping in touch with her family members and friends by sending cards and telephone calls. Her hobbies included listening to gospel music and watching the birds. he is survived by: a devoted nephew, Harold Bell (Ernestine), of White Plains, New York; devoted niece, Delores A. Bell of Newport News, Virginia; a host of other nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Ernest Kyle (Ida Slaughter); Nikki Harris(Marvin) of Newport Hews, VA, and their children; great nephew Jamal Bell, White Plains, NY; God children, Vicky Bowles Johnson, Debbie Garrett, Gertrude Holman, Virginia Holman; and special friends, Grace Chambers, Linda V. Paige, and Linda Webber.

    I loved having her come up to my desk to see me, especially after she had her hair done...enjoyed hearing her stories over the years ...im really going to miss her...she was a wonderful lady and is greatly missed....
