David Stewart, affectionately known as Dave or D, was born May 19, 1952, in Amelia County,Virginia. He was the sixth child born to the late George and Iniece Stewart.

He was a member of Amelia Baptist Church. David graduated from Amelia High School in 1970. After high school, David served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. Upon returning home from the military, he accepted a job at the Newport News Shipyard. David
worked there for many years, and he was promoted to a Master Pipe Fitter.

David cherished time with family and friends. He was very kindhearted and generous. David enjoyed attending social events with family, especially basketball games. His favorite pastime was putting puzzles together and watching western movies.

On August 6, 2025, David was called home to be with his Heavenly Father.
David is preceded in death by his father, George Stewart; mother, Iniece Stewart; brothers, Henry Stewart, Robert Stewart, George Stewart, James Stewart, and Lewis Stewart; sisters, Mary Stewart, Alice Jeter, and Dorothy Johnson.David left to cherish his memories with his nephew, George Jeter (DeCara), Chester, VA and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
