Davie Booker was born February 9, 1962, in Buckingham
County, Virginia, to Lawrence and Louise Booker Swann. He
quietly passed into eternity at his home in Buckingham on
December 31, 2023.
Davie received his education through the Buckingham
County Public Schools. At an early age, he confessed Christ as his
Savior, was baptized and became a member of Ridgeway Baptist
Church in Dillwyn.
During his lifetime, Davie had several careers. He worked for
Tyson, Inc. and did carpentry for a while. He also worked at the
Slate Quarry for over 25 years. His favorite past times included
doing yardwork, fishing, hunting, spending time with his family
and watching his favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys.
Davie leaves to cherish his memory; wife, Dorothy Booker;
four children, Pamela Carter, Demel Carter, Devonta and
David A. Booker; fourteen grandchildren, Razhia, Devon,
Shaniyah, Nevaeh, Honesti, Cavonte, Demeshia, Aalazhia,
Brenayiah, Amiyah. Malachi, Jamarious, Deasia, and Devonta,
Jr.; one grandson preceeded him in death, Damarious; two
great grandchildren, Kaceion and Razhia, Jr.; nine sisters, Diane
Brown, Dorothy Foster (Larenza), Irene Foster (Ervin), Kalvin
Bartee, Lisa booker, Mary Trent (Howard), Estelle Bartee (Glenn
Patterson), Deloris Allen and Lyndon Trent; god daughter, Katrina
Holman (Bird); devoted friends, Nikki Reid and Daisy Mae
Holman; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
