Lowell Dennis Johnson passed into the eternal love of God, early Friday morning. The sun was shining, and it was a beautiful day. He was 66 years old. Born in Buckingham County on June 29, 1954 to the late Russell and Gertrude Johnson. Dennis naturally created joy in the lives of everyone that he met. He was always good for a great laugh and fun time. He was educated in the Buckingham County Public Schools. He professed his belief in God and joined the Spreading Oak Baptist Church at a young age. Dennis drove tractor trailer and dump trucks as a profession. His handle was “Medicine Man.” He enjoyed watching a good movie, working on cars and just hanging out with friends and family. He had nickname for everybody. To cherish his memory, he leaves: His two daughters, Paulisha Johnson (Rodney) and Denita Lewis. His Grandchildren from Paulisha are Knore Javez (10) – Yummy; Kneko Javon Lowell (6) – Daddy lovingly called him Bam Bam, & D’Knela Joy Gertrude (5) – Daddy called her Grandma; His Grandchildren from Denita are Tremell Leondre (23) - Man, Trinity Kalysha (17) – She is Dad’s Pride and Joy & Stanley Michael (11) Dad lovingly called him Fat Boy, all of us live together in Lynchburg, VA; one sister, Delores Green (Calvin) of Nelson County, VA; two brothers, Marcus Johnson (Lesa) and Frederick Johnson of Arvonia, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Dennis was preceded in death by his oldest brother, Melvin Goines. Daddy/Papa/Brother/Uncle/Cuz/ you will be greatly missed!
