Peacefully on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, Dora Ford Scott departed this life from Lynchburg General Hospital, in Lynchburg, Virginia. She was born on March 12, 1942 to Sam and Eva Paige Ford Prince Edward County, Virginia. Dora received her education at Five Forks School. She was baptized at an early age and joined the Sulphur Spring Baptist Church. Dora moved to New York in her teenage years to support her sister, Jenny Davis with the care of her children. When she returned home, she met and married the late Herbert Scott. The couple then relocated to Washington D.C. They were blessed with five children. While in Washington, she was active at the New Mt. Nebo Baptist Church in Capitol Heights, Maryland, where she sang on the Choir. She had bible studies with her children, receiving lessons through the mail from “The Voice of Prophecy”. She loved listening to gospel music and singing to the Lord. She also loved coloring in different types of mixed styled coloring books and writing for hours, content in her thoughts. She worked as a housekeeper for many families until she returned to reside in Virginia.
