During the early morning hours of March 31, 2025, Mrs. Dorothy Ceil Eanes departed this life to go home to be with the Lord. She was born November 10, 1932 to the late Robert and Lula Palmer.

She accepted Christ as her savior at an early age, and was baptized and committed her membership to High Bridge Baptist Church, where she remained a faithful member until her health began failing. She loved her church family and supported them anyway she could especially during activities that required food and desserts. She was better known for the Chocolate Cakes and Sweet Potato Pies that she would prepare. She was Educated in the Prince Edward County School System. She was the community beautician where she did many heads, young and old. She showed so much joy while washing, straightening and curling; all of which she loved to do.

After a short stay in New York, she returned and began working at the Craddock-Terry Shoe Company in Farmville, Virginia and was employed for over 25 years until the company shut down.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Robert and Lula Palmer; two sisters, Georgia Redd and Chesteen Ross; daughter, Aleah Palmer; son, Paul Sims; and grandson, Shawn Palmer.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her son, Steve Palmer; grandson, Paul LeVar Sims; great granddaughter, SaNiya Sims; three nephews, Thomas (Lily) Redd of Maryland, Allen (Linda) Redd of Farmville, and James Ross; three sisters-in- law, Bettie Jeter of King George, Virginia, Elsie Goodman and Charlene Palmer of Rice, Virginia; and a host of great and great-great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

She also held three special friends near to her heart: daughter in-law, Joann Pettis, who provided home care services, Ronald Williams and Laura who provided Friday or Saturday night fun activity.
