Obituary For Dorothy Louise Westbrook

God quietly came into the room on December 25, 2023 and Dorothy

Louise Gordon Westbrook aka "Dot" entered into eternal rest on Christmas morning.

Dorothy was born on July 29, 1941, to the late James and Rhoda Peaks Gordon. She was preceded death by her son Edwin Lassenberry, grandson Kendrick Roebuck and brother Burl Gordon.

Dot was educated in the Buckingham and New Jersey public school systems. She joined Second Liberty Baptist Church as a child. She moved to New Jersey and worked at the Overbrook Mental Institution in Ceder Grove, NJ for 20+ years. Dot then moved back to Buckingham, VA and joined Deliverance Church of Christ for many years until the leading Lord lead her back to Second Liberty Baptist Church.

Dot had a radical praise for God. She was never afraid to give her testimony on how God brought her out of darkness into the marvelous light. Her love of God was evident in the way she loved others, especially her grandchildren, who lovingly called her "Nana". Dot was not only a worshiper of God, but she was a worker for God and would do what ever she could to serve in his house. From singing to serving plates she was happiest in the house of God. Her other favorite pastime was to watch NBA basketball. She could be found up late watching any time her favorite team the Golden State Worriors were playing.

Fond memories of love and support will be remembered by her children:

Sharon Allen(Randy), Anthony Lasenberry(Queenie), Durwin Westbrook(Tesha) and John Westbrook(Mattie) Grandchildren: Anthony Lasenberry, Jr, Christopher Lassenberry, Nathan, Glover, Antoine Chambers, Durwin Westbrook, Jr, Zuri Westbrook, Christopher Grant( daughter), Natasha Westbrook, and LaShaunda Westbrook.
