Earnest Elroy Webb known to many as “Scooter” was born on
September 9, 1947, to Adeline and Floyd Webb. Earnest gained his
wings and entered his eternal rest on November 6, 2023, at his residence.
Earnest received his education through the Prince Edward Public
Schools, where he was a “star” on the basketball court.
Earnest was a hard-working, strong, family man. He loved playing
spades, watching basketball and football; his favorite team was the
Cowboys. He especially enjoyed spending time with his daughter,
Cynthia, and his grannies, as he would call his grandchildren and great
grandchildren.
Earnest was not a man of many words but when he spoke, he meant
business. He took pride in going to work, being the best that he could be.
Earnest was employed by the town of Farmville, Buffalo Shook
Company, and Longwood University/The Budd Group until his health
declined in May 2023.
Earnest was preceded in death by: his mother, Adeline Webb; father,
Floyd Webb; wife, Ruby Webb; and daughters, Angela and Rhonda Webb.
Earnest’s memories will be cherished by: his devoted daughter,
Cynthia Watkins; grandchildren, Kwame’, Shanequa, Kwanequa, and
Tyhera Watkins; great grandchildren, Za’Myra Younger, Kwamir,
Kyrie, Kash Watkins, K’Ceon, Kah’Ri, K’Cyn Robinson, and Zyiere
Johnson; and cousins, Mary Margaret Daniel (Robert), Joe Webb and
Lacy Webb, Jr.. He will also be remembered by many, many other close
relatives and friends.
