Deacon Earnest Jackson was born August 8, 1932, in Buckingham
County, VA to the late John Jackson and Susie Chambers
Jackson. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife Florence
Lee Jackson and brother John Herman Jackson.
On Tuesday morning, October 15, 2024, the sweet angels of Heaven came
and called him home, which made him free from any sickness, sorrow,
or pain. He attended school in Buckingham County and was a dedicated
employee at Uniroyal Goodrich Tire Company, in Scottsville, VA, in
which he retired after 28 years of service.
He joined church at a very early age, and he became a devoted member
of Spreading Oak Baptist Church for over 50 years. He held several
positions such as being a devoted member, church custodian, Chairman of
the Deacon Board, Sunday School Superintendent, and participated with
the Spreading Oak Baptist Church Men’s Choir. He also participated with
the New Hope Baptist Church Men’s Chorus until his health begin to fail.
WPM Earnest Jackson has been a member of Keystone Lodge #188 since
1972. After hearing his church members at Spreading Oak Baptist Church
speak so highly of Masons, he asked a Deacon about becoming one
himself.
Earnest was such a blessing to his family and local community. His
family home was always open to all.
He leaves to cherish three sons: Earnest Jr. (Virginia), Irvin, and Ronald.
Six daughters; Maybelle (Jerome), Eva (James), Susie, Mary, Marie, and
Dora (Tony). 20 grandchildren; 32 great - grandchildren; 24 great - great
grandchildren. One brother-in-law Robert Lee and a host of nieces,
nephews, cousins, and friends. We extend a special thank you to James
