Obituary For Edward Legin

Edward “Burden” Legin was born on October 27, 1936, to the late Flossie Legin Pryor in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Eddie was the oldest of five children. At a young age, he along with his family returned to Prospect, Virginia, where he attended school and graduated from Robert R. Moton High School in Prince Edward County, VA. At an early age, Burden accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior, was baptized, and became a member of the Calvary Baptist Church family. Edward departed this life at his son’s home in Aberdeen, Maryland, and peacefully went home to be with his heavenly father on August 18, 2022. As a young man in 1955, Burden relocated to Baltimore, Maryland and began to work at Sparrows Point Steel Plant. After being laid off, Eddie used this opportunity to move to Long Island, New York, where he pursued a position at KLM Airlines. Edward was recalled by Sparrows Point Steel Plant to resume his employment, where he worked until he retired. Although he lived out of town, Burden often traveled to Prospect to visit his family and friends. Those trips kept him close to his family and also allowed him to further develop more life-long friendships throughout the community. Burden was an attentive son, loving brother, caring father, special uncle, and kind friend. Burden was preceded in death by: his mother, Flossie Legin Pryor; brother, Roy Pryor, of Prospect, VA; nephew, Sean Bennett Pryor of Bronx, New York; and a special friend, Mildred Roderick Williams of Aberdeen, MD.
