Mrs. Elaine Swann Rose departed this life on Saturday, April 11, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was born in Cumberland, Virginia to the late Ely and Annie Swann of Cumberland, Virginia.

Elaine confessed Christ at an early age and joined Ridgeway Baptist Church in Dillwyn, Virginia, later transferring her membership to Zion Baptist Church. Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Rose, Jr. and she leaves to cherish her memories: one son, Daniel Rose (Tonya) and one daughter Brenda Bolden (Shawn); four granddaughters, Jyniya, Jaylyn, Amil, and Abria; one great-granddaughter Kennedy; one brother, James Swann (Delois) and one sister Mary Ann Bolden (Earnest Jr.). Elaine had much love for her sisters-in-law Mattie Rose, Roberta (Daisy) Swann, Florence (Nikki) White and Sadie James, her devoted nieces Wendy and Symone Bolden, cousin Hattie Johnson, and dear friends Brenda Tatum and Arnetha Watkins.

Elaine enjoyed spending quality time with her family through car rides, sharing meals, and many other activities. She also had a strong passion for landscaping her yard, tending to her garden, and cooking. She was well-known for her calm demeanor and welcoming presence. She will be missed by many, but the memories of her will be near and dear to the hearts of her family and friends.
