Peaks Baptist Church Senior Choir Recessional On June 10, 1950, she married the late Deacon John A. Jordan, Sr. and God blessed this union with three sons. Sis Jordan worked and retired from Stackpole Components Company in Farmville VA after twenty-two years. Those special memories of you will always bring a smile if only we could have you back just for a while Then we could sit and talk again just like we used to do You always meant so very much and always will do too The fact that you’re no longer here will always cause us pain but you’re forever in our hearts until we meet again Safely Home I am home in Heaven, dear ones; Oh, so happy and so bright! There is perfect joy and beauty In this everlasting light. All the pain and grief is over, Every restless tossing passed; I am now at peace forever, Safely home in Heaven at last. Did you wonder I so calmly Trod the valley of the shade? Oh! but Jesus’ arm to lean on, Could I have one doubt or dread? Then you must not grieve so sorely, For I love you dearly still; Try to look beyond earth’s shadows, Pray to trust our Father’s Will. There is work still waiting for you, So you must not idly stand; Do it now, while life remaineth-- You shall rest in Jesus’ land. When that work is all completed, He will gently call you Home; Oh, the rapture of that meeting, Oh, the joy to see you come! Eloise was a faithful member of the Peaks Baptist Church where she loved and served her community in every way she could until her health began to fail. She was often the first to arrive for service and didn’t mind being the last to leave. Deaconess Jordan served as the Clerk of the Peaks Baptist Church for more than fifty years. She was a dutiful member of the Deaconess Ministry, Senior choir, Church Missionary, Pastor’s Aide and Food Ministry as well as an active and passionate member of the South Central Deaconess Union in Farmville, Virginia.
