Obituary For Elsie Beulah Nash Venable

Early on Thursday morning, October 30, 2025, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, came for his
beloved Elsie Beulah Nash Venable, and carried her to the eternal home He prepared for her.

Elsie was born on November 2, 1934, to the union of Clarence and Mamie Street Nash in Rice,
Virginia. At an early age, she was baptized and joined the High Rock Baptist Church in Rice,
Virginia. She received her education through the Prince Edward County Public School System
and attended R. R. Moton High School. For many years, she was employed as a fancy stitcher
on the production line at Craddock-Terry Shoe Corporation, where she remained until her
retirement.
Elsie was a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and
friend to so many. She was joined in holy matrimony to Walter A. Venable and to this union,
one child was born. She lived in Baltimore, Maryland and later relocated to Rice, Virginia.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by: her siblings, Pompey
C. Nash (Rosetta), Jessie Junious Nash (Gladys), Howard “Jimmy” Nash (Florence), James Oliver
Nash, Sr., Mary Christine “Sis” Flood(Francell), Alberta Richardson (John) and Estelle N. Hamlin
(Allen); nieces and nephews, that she loved early, James, Jr., Ruth, Wanda, Eugene and Carles
and special friends, Odessa Haskins, Bernice Wingo and Juliette Rainey.
Precious memories are left cherished and engraved in the hearts of: her beloved and devoted
daughter, LaVerne; granddaughter, Ari; her great-grandson, Aiden; nieces and nephews, Ken,
Paul (Wanda), Nancy, Kathy, Ricardo-Rick (Delores), Howard (Dianne), Kevin (Brenda), Paula,
Donna, Patricia (Steve), Francell (Freda), Jacqueline, Annette, Charleen, Courtney (Will),
Michael (Chrystal), Angela and Audrey; and a very close to her heart and lifetime friend and
sister-cousin, Bertha Lewis; also special friends and loved ones, Roger and Lucy Jackson, Mel
and Jennifer Hamlin and Kimberly Lee. Elsie will be missed so much in our lives, but she leaves
so many memories. She will always be a part of our hearts. She is with her Heavenly Father, her
parents, brothers and sisters and loved ones.
