Obituary For Florence Thompson Nash
Florence Thompson Nash was born June 26, 1936 to the late James and Dorothy Thompson and to this union was the only child. On Thursday morning, July 17, 2025, Florence Thompson Nash departed her life at the Woodland Rehabilitation Center in Farmville, Virginia to be with the Lord.
At an early age, Florence became a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church in Rice, Virginia. Later, she realized she had a great singing voice and began singing in various church choirs around the area, as well as her home church Macedonia Baptist Church.
Florence attended school in Prince Edward County. She was affected by the closing of the schools there later making her eligible to receive an honorary Juris Doctor from Longwood University. She worked for Uniroyal Factory for many years until they ceased operations.
Florence was married to the late Howard A. “Jimmy” Nash and to this union four children were born. Florence was preceded in death by one of her children, Carles (Kitten).
She leaves to cherish special memories: two sons, Howard Nash (Dianne) and Kevin Nash Sr. (Brenda); one daughter, Paula Craft; five grandchildren; and a host of other family, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
