Obituary For Giles E Gibson Jr.

Giles (Gibby, Pop) was born July 6, 1936, in the Curdsville District of Buckingham County, Virginia to Giles E. Gibson, Sr. and Nancy Ann Sears Gibson.

Giles was educated in the Cumberland County school district. He graduated fourth in his graduating class Giles began his Christian journey at an early age at the Zion Baptist Church in Dillwyn, Virginia. He then furthered this journey at Woodstream Church in Mitchellville, Maryland, until his passing.

Giles attended Morgan State University. While attending college he played tennis on the varsity team and played basketball as a point guard. Giles earned his degree in Business Administration in 1954. He also completed post graduate work in logistics after graduating from Morgan State University.

Giles was employed by Joseph E. Seagram & Sons in the traffic department as a Clerk and later to a supervisor before becoming a Quality Control Analyst. Giles also worked in NY, NY as a Marketing Analyst. He later worked for Four Roses Company as a Regional Field Assistant serving Maryland, Delaware, and Washington, D.C. In 1989 Giles retired from the Miller Brewing Company in Fulton, NY as a Production Superintendent. Giles believed in hard work and caring for his family.

Some of Giles' hobbies consisted of playing golf, playing tennis, fishing, and hunting. His favorite hobby was visiting Marthas Vineyard with family and friends. Giles was also a longtime member of the Meritocrats Social Club of Baltimore, MD.

Giles leaves to mourn his loving and devoted wife, Mattie Gibson of 64 years. From this union were born two beautiful daughters Karen Michelle and Kimberley Maria; one grandson, Rich chard Giles (Debbie); five granddaughters, Tiffany Mariea, Synclaire Elizabeth, Tilar Lee, Mikahla Tai, Mackenzie Michelle; five great grands, MorGeyn Nancy Elizabeth, Karter Rose, Saleem Mahdi, King Rosheim Christian and Reign Nhyira; four sisters, Elsie Mae, Clara, Margaret, and Magary; two brothers, Moses (Martha) and Bolden (Liddy); one aunt, Punch; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing
