Obituary For Grace Louise Carr Jones

Grace Louise Carr Jones was born September 8, 1940, in Prospect, Virginia to the late Deacon Charlie and Lucille Carr. Grace departed her life into a peaceful rest on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Southside Community Hospital in Farmville, Va.

At an early age, Grace was baptized and joined the Peaks Baptist Church in Prospect Virginia. Grace was a member of the choir and attended the church regularly until her health began to fail her. Grace was over joyed when she received her honorary diploma from R. R. Moton High School.

Grace was united in holy matrimony with George Lee Jones, Sr.for 70 years. To this union, two children were born. Grace was a homemaker, she cared for her father, mother and oldest brotherduring their sickness. She was quiet spirit, grateful, genuine, frugal, humble, and had a way of making you feel so welcome whenever you came to visit her. She loved her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Lester Carr, Sr. She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband George Lee Jones, Sr.; two children George (Irène) Jones, Jr.and Sandra Jones Goode of Prospect. Four grandchildrenMinister Latoya D Randolph, Darrell (Amber) Goode four children, Anthony (Tiffany) Jones, three children; and Tyrek (Candace) Goode, two children. Two brothers Lander Carr of Pamplin, Va and Leroy (Gwen) Carr of Helena, Alabama; two brothers-in-law and four sisters in laws; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
