Obituary For Gwendolyn Lewis Gregory

On August 22, 2024, Gwendolyn answered the call and went home peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior. As she was in her last days, she was surrounded by family during her transition at Martha Jefferson Hospital. Gwen gave her life to the Lord at an early age and was baptized as a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. She was a faithful member to the church and served on the usher board and with the missionaries. Later, she joined her husband and became a member of Baptist Union Baptist Church. Together, Gwen and Douglas were installed as Deacon and Deaconess of the church. Gwen was born in Charlottesville, VA on January 12, 1958. She was joined in holy matrimony to Douglas Gregory in 1987. To this union, one daughter, Desiree was born. Anyone who spent time with Gwen knew her as a kind, loving spirit. Most of all, she loved being with her grandchildren, Logan and Hailey. Gwen had a love of all music, books, crime shows, game shows and westerns. Whenever she had the opportunity, she would travel, shop and spend quality time with her family. Gwendolyn graduated with the Buckingham County High School Bicentennial Class of 1976. It was this class’s 10th reunion where she connected with her future husband, Douglas.
