Obituary For Helen Johnson Manns-Green

Helen Johnson Manns Green, daughter of the late Henry Monroe Johnson and Lottie
Johnson Woodson was born on December 22, 1953, in Farmville, Virginia. Helen received her formal
education through the Buckingham County Schools System where she earned her high school diploma
from Buckingham County High School. After high school, Helen attended Southside Virginia
Community College in Keysville, VA where she received her associate degree.
Helen gave her life to Christ at an early age and became a member of the Oak Grove Baptist
Church in Buckingham, Virginia. She was a faithful member and sang in the church choir for many
years.
Helen was joined in holy matrimony to Joseph Manns in 1975, who preceded her in death in
2006. From that beautiful union, they were blessed with three handsome sons. They shared many
loving family memories in their home with their children. Helen later met and married Aaron Green
until his passing in 2019. She adopted Tearwallet Baptist Church in Cumberland, Virginia where her
husband, Aaron was a member.
Helen was employed by Centel (Sprint Communications) for many years prior to retiring in
the early 2000’s. She was a kind and loving person who was very devoted to her family and friends.
She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and family and you could often see her
excitement anytime she was around her immediate family. Helen also enjoyed camping, watching old
westerns, playing cards, and dancing.
On July 17, 2024, our Heavenly Father called his beloved angel, Helen, home to eternal rest.
She leaves in honor to cherish in memory and continue her legacy four loving sons, KeShawn T.
Manns, of Chesterfield, Keifton Manns (Aja), of Chesterfield, Joseph Manns, of Cumberland; and
Aaron Green, Jr., of Cumberland; two brothers, John Johnson (Carolyn), of Cumberland, and Rev.
James Johnson (Rev. Glady’s) of Goochland, VA; one sister, Eunice Johnson Dickerson of Qatar
(West Asia); sister in law Teresa Dabney (James); seven grandchildren, Kyiah, Ari, Nadia, Christian, Madison, Gia, and Adrean; and one
great-grandchild, Kymir; and an exceptional host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives
and friends who all loved and cared for her dearly.
As we bid farewell our beloved Helen, let us carry forward the love and laughter Helen brought
into our lives. Though she may no longer be with us in body, her spirit will forever echo in our
hearts, reminding us to cherish each moment and hold tight to the bonds of family and in the

hearts of those who loved her, she will always be there.
