As he closed his eyes, God whispered in his ear, “It’s time, my son, to return home and gain your wings.” Horace “Tracy” Allen entered eternity on August 9, 2021 at Lynchburg General Hospital in Lynchburg, Virginia. He was born to Archer and Mertis Kelser Allen on August 4, 1936 in Prospect, VA. Affectionately called Tracy, he received his diploma from R.R. Moton High School. He moved to New York City in 1955, where he met his wife of twenty-three years, Ellena Harper. Tracy worked for The New York City Metropolitan Transit Authority and retired after twenty years of service in 1986.
