James Franklin Booker was born on November 12, 1944 in Buckingham County, Virginia to Robert and Mary Cunningham Booker. He departed this life on September 2, 2020 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Dillwyn, VA. James, who was affectionately called “Boddie”, joined Slate River Baptist Church, at an early age. He received his education through Buckingham County Public School System. For many years Boddie worked in the lumber industry, cutting pulpwood, until his health failed. He enjoyed shing, hunting, watching westerns, xing small engines, taking care of his animals and most of all spending time with his family.
