Obituary For James Steven Scott

On the morning of December 17, 2024, an Angel of Peace and Mercy silently swept into the corridors of Lynchburg General Hospital reclaiming the loving, humble, and kind soul of James Steven Scott. Steve, the son of Lillie Wiley and the late Russell Wiley, was born on January 15, 1955 in Prince Edward County.

He attended the Prince Edward County School System. Steve his heart to the Lord at an early age and became a member gave of the Sulphur Springs Baptist Church in Prospect, VA. He worked at Hampden Sydney College in Farmville, VA. for many years until his health would no longer allow him to work. Steve truly loved and enjoyed working at the college in the Building and Grounds Department.

The highest tribute that can be paid to any man is that he was loved by family and friends alike. Steve was dependable, loved children and would help anyone in their

hour of need.

Steve was welcomed into heaven by a host of family members and friends. His unconditional love and fund memories will be forever cherished by his mother, Lillie Wiley of Appomattox, VA; daughter Jill Williams (David) of Houston, TX; three grandchildren, Aziah Spencer, Akira Spencer and Jamya Williams of Houston, TX; one very devoted sister, Antoinette Jennings (Rusty) of Darlington Heights, VA; one brother, Russell Wiley, Jr. (Sharon), three sisters, Lisa Chambers (Jeff), Connie Kelso (Anthony) April Wiley (Antwan) all of Appomattox, VA; one uncle, Royal Scott of Darlington Heights, VA; one aunt, Mary Jennings of Farmville, VA; three God children, Cheryl Hamilton, Mary Spencer & Marquise Spencer all of Farmville, VA; special friends, Phyllis Turner, Bob Turner, Antoine and Christina Branch; one special buddy Kyrie Watkins, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other family, and friends.
