Obituary For Jean Ann Holman West

Jean Ann West was born on June 1, 1947, in Farmville, Virginia, to the late Bessie and Sherlock Holman. She peacefully departed this life on October 22, 2025. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Pauline Randolph, Kate Williams, Eddie Lee Holman Sr., and James Holman.

Ms. Jean was a woman of grace, strength, and unwavering love. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose kindness and wisdom touched everyone she met. She loved puzzles and treasured the special joy of watching her
grandchildren grow. In every moment with her family, she poured out her heart and upheld the power of love, laughter, and togetherness—values she has passed down to all who knew her.

Cherishing her memory are her daughter, Rejeana West Jones; two grandchildren, Chantel West-White (Melvin) and Deven Jones (Joanna); eight great-grandchildren, Chandre West, Imani West, Yasmen White, Anyah Cabler, Christian Cabler, Jaymar Jones, Jaziah Jones, and Noah Jones; one great-great- grandchild, Roman Smith; and one brother, George
Holman (Jenny). In addition, a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends—including the Jones family—will forever hold her in their hearts with gratitude for the time they shared.

Ms. Jean’s life was a blessing, her memory a treasure,
and her legacy of love will live on in each of us.

Condolences

Rejeana, I was not aware of your Mom's passing until this afternoon when my brother Lewis called me. I extend my sympathy on behalf of the entire Griggs family. Jean and her parents lived behind us growing up and we could see their house from our house. Jean and the entire family were good neighbors and we enjoyed talking to and interacting with them. May your hearts be comforted by God's promise that "To be absent in the body is to be present with the Lord". You are in my thoughts and prayers. Love You! Frances Griggs Rose (Lynchburg, VA)
