OBITUARY

Jeannette was born June 18, 1948 in Farmville, VA. She graduated from Virginia State University Throughout her career she lived in multiple areas of the country to include California, Ohio, Michigan and eventually New Jersey, where she retired from a successful career as an accountant at GM/Delphi.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, Julia and James Lacy and her sister, Shirley Mixon.

She leaves to cherish her memories four nephews: André (Valissa) of Willingboro, NJ, Mark of Columbia, NC, Wayne (Geneva) of Fayetteville, NC, Wade (Hope) of Lumberton, NC, three great nieces, foru great nephews, one great-great niece, three great-great nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

She was the matriarch of the family and hosted many family gatherings over the years. Her caring spirit was not only reserved for her family as she was generous with her time to help students with their education by managing a scholarship foundation.

She also donated to several organizations such as: Alpha Baptist Church, Sharon Baptist Church, Easter Seals, Dreams of Hope for the Lakota Children (St. Joseph), Smithsonian

National Museum of African American History and Culture, Wounded Warrior Project, Boys Town, American Red Cross, National Foundation for Cancer Research, and AARP Foundation.

She was an avid bowler as well as an officer in her bowling league. She was a world traveler, and she would cruise frequently with friends and family to many different destinations.

She was an active member of her church and church choir. She will be missed.
