Jermaine Antonio Jordan, 40, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 in
Lynchburg, Virginia. He was surrounded by his family and those who loved him dearly.
Jermaine was born in Prince Edward County on December 15, 1983 to Joyce Jordan
and Charles Jordan, Jr. He accepted Jesus Christ at an early age, was baptized and
became a member of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church. He attended Prince Edward
County Public Schools and graduated from Nelson County Public Schools in 2002. He
later moved to Lynchburg, VA.
Jermaine loved family and enjoyed being a father to his four children - Javon, Jaquan,
Jayla and Jamiere. Jermaine developed a passion for music and dance at an early age,
and was a self-taught drummer. He played the drums for Sulphur Springs Baptist
Church and other churches in the local area. He loved to cook and was an avid
Philadelphia Eagles fan.
Jermaine is preceded in death by his grandmothers, Mary Arline Jordan, Lucille
Johnson; grandfathers, Charles Henry Jordan, George Thomas Johnson, Sr.; uncles
Henry Jordan, Cleveland Jordan, George Thomas Johnson Jr; brother DèAndre Carter.
He is survived by his mother Joyce Jordan; father Charles (Felecia) Jordan, Jr.; sons
Javon Dempsey, Jaquan Dempsey, Jamiere Dempsey; daughter Jayla Dempsey;
sisters LaToya Jordan, Kadijah Carter; brothers Derrick Jordan, Jason Jones; nephews
Ja’Marion Jordan, Ca’Mari Jordan, De’Ante Jordan, Nasir Jones, Kamerin Carter;
nieces Desirea Jordan, Nivaya Jones; aunts Louise (Isaac) Welton, Queen (Larry)
Lyttle, Mae (Lloyd) Jackson, Renaee “Honey” Johnson Allen; uncles James Jordan,
Chester (Sarah) Jordan; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and loved ones.
Jermaine was loved and will be missed. We will remember his sense of humor and
laugh, and dedication to family.
