John Thomas Booker, Jr. was born in Prospect, Virginia on January 16, 1941 to the late John Thomas Booker and Lucy Catherine Lee Booker. On Sunday, January 16, 2022 at Lynchburg General Hospital in Lynchburg, Virginia, he was peacefully called to his divine home. Early in life, he confessed his faith in Christ and was baptized at Oak Hill Baptist Church in Buckingham, Virginia, where he served on the usher board and remained a member throughout his life. He attended church regularly, driving his grandfather, the late Rev. John W. Booker, to the churches he pastored. He attended school in Prince Edward County.
