John William Jones was born on May 5, 1928 in Prince Edward County, Virginia to the late Joel Lee Jones and Amanda

Daniels Jones. On February 18, 2021, John was called to be with God

at the Well Springs Nursing Facility in Amelia, VA, at the age of 92. John gave his life to Christ and joined Peaks Baptist Church in Prospect, VA, where he was a faithful member. He was employed by Norfolk and Western Railroad. He

loved going hunting and he was a member of the Walker’s Hunting

Club. He also had a passion for hauling wood and farming. John leaves to cherish his memories: a loving companion of 44 years, Hester J. Washington; one son, Boyd Carter; four brothers,

Clarence, Jack, George (Grace) and Samuel (Dorothy); two sisters, Alice

and Carol, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
