John Sherman Wright was born May 2, 1944 in Pamplin, Virginia to Percy and Alice Edmonds Wright. He departed this life on July 4, 2020 from Centra-Southside Community Hospital in Farmville, VA. At an early age, John accepted Christ as his Savior, was baptized and joined the Sulphur Spring Baptist Church. He received his education through Prince Edward County Public School System. Most of his adult life, he was employed as an auto mechanic. He could fix anything with a motor. He loved fishing, playing pool and being around family and friends. John was preceded in death by: his parents, Alice and Percy Wright; one daughter, Alice Theresa Wright; one sister, Carrie Scott and a brother, Robert Wright. He leaves to cherish his memory: three sons, John Sherman Mann, Tyrone Mann and John Sherman Wright; one daughter, Theresa Del Donna; six grandchildren; one sister, Lillie Inge; two brothers, Willam Ollie Wright and Sylvester Wright; an adopted son, Kenneth “Pewn” Hensley, who cared for him for many years; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
