Obituary For Larry Lee Jordan

Larry Lee Jordan was born January 2, 1953 to the late John A. Jordan Sr. and Eloise Lockett Jordan in Prospect, Virginia. Larry departed this life on May 29, 2024 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

At an early age, Larry was baptized and joined the Peaks Baptist Church in Prospect, Virginia, After graduating Prince Edward County High School in 1973, he worked at Stackpole Manufacturing and the Lynchburg Foundry before joining the United States Army.

Having served in the U.S Army for four years and being honorably discharged, Larry returned home where he began working for the Norfolk and Southern Railroad. He was employed with Norfolk and Southern for 32 years. Larry was a strong provider, and when he wasn't working he love fishing, chess, watching his favorite TV shows: Gunsmoke and Sanford and Son, along with enjoying his family and friends.

Larry ware preceded in death by: his parents, John and Eloise Jordan, Sr.; and brother John A. Jordan, Jr. He leaves to cherish his loving memory: his wife of 50 years, Evelyn L. Jordan of Appomattox, Virginia; children, Larry A. Jordan, Shaquita M. Jordan and Jonathan D. Jordan, all of Farmville, Virginia; four grandchildren, Za’Tasia Jordan, La’Meeka Jordan, Milia Jordan, and Damien Jordan all of Farmville, Virginia; two bonus grandchildren, Ka’Veon Lambert and Maurice Hatcher; brother, James C. Jordan; aunts, Dorothy Holcomb ( James) of Minnesota, and Otelia Goode of Prospect, Virginia; uncles, Macy Lockett (Gloria) of Prospect, Virginia, and Edward Lockett of North Carolina; nieces, Dennine Smith (William), Jessica Davis (Calvin), and Tiaria Johnson; nephews, Jason Jordan (Virginia) and Matavious Johnson (Son); one great niece, five great nephews; mother in law, Virginia Lee of Rice, Virginia; a very special friend and caretaker, Georgia Hatcher; and countless other family and friends.
