Obituary For Lawrence Nelson Braxton
Lawrence Nelson Braxton, affectionately known as “Noe”, was born March 18, 1964 to Milton and Lula Braxton. On Monday, August 4, 2025, Lawrence departed this life at Centra-Southside Community Hospital in Farmville, Virginia, to be with the Lord.
Lawrence attended school in Buckingham County, VA. He became a member of Ridgeway Baptist Church in Dillwyn, VA, at an early age. Through the years, he decided he wanted to use his voice to rejoice in the Lord, and became a member of the Ridgeway Baptist Men’s Choir. He later joined the Sharon Baptist Church, where he continued rejoicing in various choirs.
He worked in the pulp wood industry for many years. He also spent a couple of years working for Ellington’s Farm, and did yard work to help others until his health declined.
Beside his parents, Milton and Lula Braxton, he was preceded in death by one sister, and two brothers.
He leaves to cherish special memories: two daughters, Connie Chambers (Jermaine) and Lakeisha Jones (Suave); one sister, Betty “The Great One” Braxton (Sam); two brothers, Clayton Braxton and Ed Braxton (Joyce); five grandchildren; K’Mya, Khyla, Ky’Nasha, Kenya, and Kamryn; one aunt, Elizabeth Chambers; four nieces, Patricia, Brenda, Tonya, and Mattie; three nephews, Kenneth, James and Sammie; one step-daughter, Denise Braxton; one god-daughter, Christine Hawkins; nine great-nieces; seven great-nephews: five close friends, Melvin Braxton, Joseph Patterson, Elijah Cain, Jerome and Melinda Holman; a special lady he called “mom”, Mary Bartee; and his devoted lady friend, Linda Wardell and her twin girls.
