Obituary For Lena Lucille Peaks

Deaconess Lena ‘Lucille’ Patterson Peaks was born August 13, 1933, in Buckingham County, Virginia, to Ivanhoe and Mary Spradley Patterson. She quietly entered eternity on March 14, 2023, from Centra-Southside Community Hospital, in Farmville, VA. Growing up in Buckingham, she received her education through the Buckingham County Public School System. She received Christ at an early age and was baptized and became a faithful member of Second Liberty Baptist Church. Over the years, Lucille held many positions in the church. She was Deaconess, President of the Kitchen Committee, President of the Missionary Board, Sunday School Teacher, Usher, Choir Member, and Church Custodian. She always met you with a smile on her face and was adamant that everything was done decent and in order. For many years, Lucille worked in the cafeteria and fed many students at Buckingham County Elementary School. She had only retired on June 20, 2021. Lucille was preceded in death by: her husband, Randolph Peaks, Sr.; three sons, Raymond Peaks, Randolph Peaks, Jr., and Vernon Peaks; one granddaughter, Ivette Paysinger; one step-grandson, Latrell Maxey. She leaves to treasure her memory: three daughters, Eva Mae Paysinger of Lynchburg, VA, Rosemarie Zeigler and Regina McKoy of Dillwyn, VA; two sons, Alvin B. Peaks (Marie) of Irvington, New Jersey and Gaston R. Peaks (Terry) of Dillwyn; One sister, Francine Giles of Dillwyn; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-three great grandchildren; twelve great-great grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
