Very quietly and peacefully on Thursday, September 9, 2023, Leon Cornell Jones closed his eyes and entered into eternal rest in Dillwyn, Virginia. Leon was born on March 22, 1958 to Johnny and Annie Mae Baker Jones in Buckingham County, Virginia.

He was educated in the Buckingham County Public School System. Leon was a man that loved agriculture. He worked in the logging industry with his father until his father’s health began to decline. He then went on to work on several farms in the area.

He loved people and was very social. He loved to fish and play cards. Leon left a lasting impact on all who met him.

Leon was preceded in death by: his mother, Annie Mae Baker Jones; his brother, John (Pee Wee) Jones and his granddaughter, Sierra Glover.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his father, Johnny Jones; two sons, Shaun and Shantel Glover of Dillwyn, Virginia; daughter, Charita Randolph of Farmville, Virginia; grandchildren, Joi Glover and Jasmine Evans; close friends, Michael Braxton, Author (Tucker) Bartee; Willie Gray and Sam Bolden; and a host of other family members and friends.
