Lillian Russell Morton was born on August 9, 1934 to the late Deacon David and Gracie Ayres, at their residence in Dillwyn, Virginia. She went to sit with the Father beside His throne on August 11, 2019, at MCV/VCU Medical Center in Richmond, Virginia.

Deeply moved and saddened to just hear of the passing of our Beloved and Cherished Classmate. On behalf of the Freedmen's Hospital School of Nursing, Howard University, Class 1962 of Washington, DC, we send our Love, Prayers, and heartfelt Sympathy as you continue to celebrate the Life and Legacy of our beloved friend and classmate, Lillian Ayers Morton. She was a brilliant and dedicated Nurse. She proudly represented our profession and honored the name of our Historic Freedmen's Hospital and School of Nursing.
