Obituary For Lillie Mae Scott
I lived my life with all the powers my surroundings granted me.I was a Daughter, Sister, Wife and Mother. Life flowed through my veins pulsating an energy that kept me focused on all I was meant to be. I created my journey, followed the paths with determination to reach my goal. I breathed the air of contentment, forgave my mistakes, used them as my stepping stones. I was not perfect. My imperfections created a canvas for renewal of my spirit. I loved with all that I was, all that I could for as long as I had breath.
On April 27, 2025, our mother, grandmother, sister and aunt went home peacefully to be with our Lord. Lillie was born in Charlotte County, Virginia to James and Nancy Holcomb Jackson on September 6, 1943. She attended Charlotte County Schools and Prince Edward County Schools until the schools closed. At an early age she accepted Christ and joined St. Andrews Baptist Church, Charlotte County. After numerous years she transferred her membership to Sulphur Spring Baptist Church, Prospect, VA, where she remained a loyal member until her sickness.
On February 27, 1960 she was joined in holy matrimony to Gilbert Scott, Jr. and they enjoyed almost 60 years of marriage. Six children were born to this union.
She was employed with Stackpole/Carbone for nearly 40 years of dedicated service. She enjoyed gardening, cooking for her family, hosting out of town relatives, traveling, and loving on her grandchildren.
She is survived by: her children, Cheryl Paige (James), Wanda Armistead (Melvin), Tyren Scott (Melissa) and Tammy Scott Jesus; two sisters, Nancy Carroll Walker (Phillip) and Shirley Brown (Walter) fourteen grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends

Mrs. Scott always had a smile on her face whenever I saw her and was always pleasant to talk to. My prayers are with the family during this difficult time. May you find peace and comfort in your memories of her. I pray God grants you the strength you need as you deal with her transition.
