Obituary For Lonnie Lewis Johnson
Lonnie Lewis Johnson was born in Prince Edward County, Virginia, Elsie Johnson and the late James Evans on March 8, 1959, and was educated in Prince Edward County Public Schools.
In 1986, Lonnie was married to Miss Doris Perkins and one son was born to this union. Lonnie lived a life that was filled with love, laughter and fun. He was loved by everyone who knew him, and would do anything he could to help someone. He loved playing spades and was a diehard Washington Commanders fan.
On August 12, 2025, our beloved son, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and nephew departed this life from Lynchburg General Hospital (Lynchburg, VA), and went to be with the Lord.
Lonnie was preceded in death by: father, James Evans; sister, Yolanda Johnson; and brother, Alvin Jerome Johnson.
The Family He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving mother, Elsie Johnson; son,Duane Johnson; two grandchildren, Taniyah and Travon Johnson; three sisters, Darlene Walker of Farmville, VA, Cynthia Jackson and Elsie Johnson of Baltimore, Maryland; four aunts; two uncles; seven nephews,Tyrone, De’Carlos, Andre’, Jermaine, Tyrese, DaShawn, and Eric; three nieces, Quashata, Crystal and Kendra; thirteen great nieces; nine great nephews; his adopted family, the Jones’- caregivers, Margaret, Keondra, and his “ride & die partner”, Kemmie; the mother of his son, Doris P. Johnson; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends
