Lucille Jones was born on June 19, 1940 in Prospect, Virginia to the late Pattie and Alfonso Wardell, Sr. She was employed by ADP of Clifton, New Jersey and retired in 1983. She resided in Passaic, NJ until she relocated to Richmond, VA in 2000. Lucille loved watching wrestling and keeping up with current events - her main source was CNN. She kept her faith by having Sunday bedside service from the gospel channel. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Mansfield Howard Jones; her parents, Pattie and Alfonso Wardell, Sr.; three brothers, Alfonso Wardell, Jr., Leroy Wardell and Otis Wardell; three sisters, Virginia Curtis, Mabel Womack and Rebecca Saunders; brother-in-law, Rev. John Gaddy and her oldest granddaughter, Tasheen Jones. She is survived by: her only child, Delores “Nita” Williams; son-in-law, Walter Williams, Sr.; two grandchildren, Walter Williams, Jr. and Nyasia Williams; two sisters, Nellie Danner and Patricia Gaddy; one brother, Raymond Wardell; one sister-in-law, Corrine Wardell; as well as a multiude of nieces, newphews and other family members. The family would like to especially thank Michelle Goodnight for being Lucille’s caretaker for the last five years of her life. There are no words that can express the gratitude to Leroy “James” Currie. He was there for Lucille for over twenty years and showed her nothing but love and support.
