Marie Enders

Obituary For Marie Enders
Sister Marie Miller Enders was born to the late Margaret Alice and Thomas Lee Miller on August 13, 1938 in Rice, Virginia. She entered into eternal rest on August 14, 2025 at The Woodland Health and Rehabilitation Center in Farmville, Virginia.
At an early age, Marie accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior. She was baptized and joined the High Bridge Baptist Church. She enjoyed giving God all the praise through her heartfelt testimonies and sharing about the goodness of God to everyone she met. Sister Enders loved attending various churches in the community once she returned back home. Although Sister Enders loved her hometown, she left home and moved to New York to find a better life. Though she was closed out of schools in Prince Edward County, she continued to seek higher education in New York. It was there where she received her graduate degree and diploma.
Marie later met and married the late Ollis Enders. She continued to strengthen her love and faith in the Lord by joining and being rebaptized at Kings Highway Apostolic Church in Yonkers, New York, under the leadership of the late Lucille and Bishop Ernest Hairston. She was a devoted and faithful member having been part of the Missionary Choir as well as the Women’s Missionary Circle until she decided to return home to Virginia.
- Marie was employed by Saks Fifth Avenue in Yonkers, New York, at the headquarters building. She worked there for 13 years. She was known to be kind but very outspoken. She enjoyed talking to everyone she met. Marie loved to cook, baking delicious cakes and mouth watering meals until her health began to fail. She was also, for a brief period, employed by STEPS in Farmville, Virginia. She loved working with special needs children and adults. This carried her until she decided to retire. During her past time, she would work in her puzzle books, write letters to her friends and coworkers, and take phone calls and visits from family and friends.
- Sister Enders was preceded in death by: her husband, Ollis; her parents; her granddaughter, Cynthia Enders; and four brothers, John, Nepoleon, Leroy and James Miller.
- She leaves to cherish her precious memories: three sons, Mervin Enders (Donna), Thomas Enders (Emma), and Gerald Miller (Belinda); four grandchildren, Christopher (Jasmin), Rasheed, Joshua and Gerald Jr.; four great grandchildren, Isla, Kenzo, Lauren, Gerald III; two sisters, Fanny Miller and Mattie Jackson; two devoted cousins, Edith Allen and Cousin Grace; and a host of nieces, nephews cousins and friends.

I just discovered that you met The Lord and Savior you so loved and worshipped face-to-face the day after your birthday this year. Your truth was an inspiration and your faith a blessing to me when we praised God together at Race Street (now Jericho Baptist) Church in Farmville. Rise in power and rest in peace charming lady and mighty warrior. Romans 8:38-39
